BANABA CHILDREN: PLS PLANS TO SUPPORT THEM
YOU may have noticed my writing sometime ago about Privilege Learning Systems supporting Banaban children going to school at Rabi Island in Fiji.
Well, I have been getting updates from an organization about the possibility of supporting a high school student entering university (University of South Pacific).
PLS will help the group because it is PLS’s aim to help children/young people (not only in PNG but in other parts of the Pacific) in whatever way it can to advance their education.
If all goes well, one day, PLS can help many more lives – in Banaba and beyond.
I will keep you all updated on the details of sponsoring the child.
NOTE: Banaba people are originally from Banaba Island in Kiribati. But when phosphate mining operations started on their island in the early 1900s, they were relocated to Rabi Island in Fiji. They are one group of “displaced” people and need help.
