A MOTHER'S SONG: BASIO LOLOBOIO

IT is mother’s day today.

I decided to share this with you all – a mother’s day celebration thing.

(As you all may know, I am a music enthusiast – apart from writing poetry and when I find the time, I work on my own music compositions.)

Early this morning (May 11) I completed the lyrics of two songs I started writing a few months ago. (The music has also been written. When the time is right, I will post samples for you – or direct you to sites where you can listen to them. That is not an immediate plan though.)

The songs are both about mothers and I thought it was timely this year to complete the lyrics – at least the first verses.

The first song is in PNG Tok Pisin and Motu, a popular local PNG dialect.

The verse is in Tok Pisin and the Chorus is in Motu.

(I still have to get my step-mother to check the Chorus for me!)

I have provided the English translations for both songs.
