I WAS watching a few video clips recently and took
note of an interesting talk given by a university President in the US.
To the crowd he was speaking to, he emphasised
the point that his university was not merely teaching students but training
them to take on opportunities and make a change where they were – they should
plan and put in the effort to determine where their organisation should go, not
sit back and wait for chance to decide.
For this new year, let us all take note of
that too.
Be serious about what you want to achieve and
make plans as well as sweat to makes things happen – do not wait for chance.
(Chance usually never creates the best environment for your plans to be accomplished.)
The university President shared a quote by
Aristotle. That is what I will leave with you today.
Aristotle said: “Excellence is never
an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and
intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives -
choice, not chance, determines your destiny.”
All
the best in your plans.
