BETTER DO THESE WHILE YOU ARE YOUNG

HERE are some things that you should try to do while you are still YOUNG, SINGLE or when the CHILDREN ARE STILL SMALL.

1. LEARN TO BUDGET YOUR SPENDING
Your guardians or friends will not be around you forever.
They may also have their own priorities in life ... therefore learn to know how much you should spend on necessities, and how much you can spend on luxuries and entertainment.
In other words, learn to manage yourself when you are young.
Later when you get married, you shall also be required to help your spouse manage the home.

2. LEARN TO COOK AND WASH YOUR CLOTHES
This may seem illogical, but there are adults (particularly males) who cannot cook or wash their clothes and bedding.
If someone is to remain single (or has a sick wife and without a house maid), he will have to do a bit of this from time to time.
It is part of living.

3. GOING BACK TO SCHOOL
If you have not completed school (or other personal projects like starting a small business) and want to do that, do that while you are still single.
It is quite hard to complete studies if you have to take time out of work and are not supported by anybody.
When children are small, their needs are not many and it is a good time to complete your studies then.
You know, when they grow up, it will be difficult because their needs will be many – school fees, bus fare, lunch money, uniforms, flex cards, etc.

4. KNOW GOD
Seek God (the Christian God) and know what it is to really believe in Him. Do not be fooled by Religion. Go past the church and get to Him. When everything does not work out, you can be assured that there will be a Friend who will stand by you ... ALWAYS.

5. IMPROVE YOURSELF, LEARN OTHER SKILLS
There are many skills you can learn – skills that you did not learn from school or from your guardians.
Learn to write, learn another language, learn another subject (economics, arts, etc) while you have the time as a single.
You will not have the time when you have a family.
But these skills (good skills) learned can enrich your life and your family’s later on.
Good music, good literature and pastimes will add beautiful colours to your home.
Learn to love those while you are young, single or when the children are small.

With that, I wish you all a nice weekend.
I am leaving for that right now.
Cheers.
